Writing: Today we worked on constructing conclusions.  Students must have crafted at least 2 different conclusions and chosen one to write on separate paper to add to their draft. Students must have their complete draft (introduction, 3 paragraphs, and conclusion) by Monday. On Monday we will do peer editing/revising.  We will be having a Writing Celebration on Tuesday, and students need to have completed their Published Essays by this day.  Extra credit will be given for typing essays.
Math: We worked on figuring out the volume of a human body by approximating rectangular prisms. The homework is Math Boxes 5-11.

Writing: Complete any revisions you did not complete in school.  Students only need to work on the parts of the rubric we completed together in class (angling mini-stories & ending with a sentence that refers back to the topic sentence.)  We begin drafting tomorrow.  We will be having a Writing Celebration next Tuesday, and students need to have completed their Published Essays by this day.
Math: We worked on comparing the areas of different shapes. The homework is Math Boxes and Home Link 5-8. We will be having quizzes over the next two weeks focused on fractions, decimals, and percents. The one tomorrow will be changing decimals to percents and percents to decimals.
